Feeding Right: The Key to a Healthy Pet

Feeding Right: The Key to a Healthy Pet

Just like humans, pets need balanced diets to thrive. A well-planned meal provides all the essential nutrients for energy, growth, and immunity. Whether you have a playful puppy, an adult cat, or a senior dog, nutrition should be tailored to their age, breed, and activity level.

Start by choosing high-quality commercial pet food that lists meat as the first ingredient. Avoid fillers like corn or soy and steer clear of artificial colors and preservatives. Cats are obligate carnivores and need meat-based diets, while dogs can eat a variety of proteins, vegetables, and grains.

Hydration is equally important — always provide clean, fresh water. You can also include wet food or homemade meals with vet guidance. Treats should be limited to 10% of their daily calories and should be healthy, such as carrots or store-bought dental chews.

Feeding schedules matter. Puppies and kittens eat more frequently than adults. Stick to consistent meal times and monitor weight to avoid obesity or underfeeding. With the right nutrition, your pet will have a shinier coat, stronger immunity, and a longer, happier life.
